Extended Hours

Home Visits

We encourage patients to visit our surgery. We have the right equipment and facilities here. However, we understand this isn't always possible. If you need a home visit, please call reception before 10:30 am.

You can only request a home visit if you are housebound or too ill to come to the practice. Your GP will visit if they believe your condition requires it. They will also determine how urgent the visit is. Please do not ask for home visits just because you lack transport.

Keep this in mind and be ready to provide details. This will help the doctor schedule house calls.

You can also have a community nurse visit you at home if your GP refers you. A health visitor will visit if you recently had a baby or are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
